Amanda Neystrong

Amanda Neystrong (she/her) is a Master of Counselling student at City University (Vancouver), currently completing her clinical internship. With nearly 20 years of experience as a social worker and counsellor, Amanda brings warmth, insight, and dedication to her practice. Clients often describe her as approachable, grounded, and deeply empathetic. She prioritizes creating a space where you feel safe, seen, and understood—a space where your story matters and healing can unfold at your pace.

Amanda is especially passionate about supporting parents and caregivers. She understands the unique challenges of raising a child who is neurodivergent, part of the LGBTQ+ community, or facing mental health or substance use concerns. Her approach is centered on helping caregivers feel more grounded, connected, and confident in their journey.

She also enjoys working with teenagers, offering a genuine, non-judgmental presence that fosters trust and connection. Additionally, Amanda supports individuals and couples navigating fertility challenges, family building, or the emotional complexities of trying to conceive, offering both professional insight and heartfelt compassion.

Her counselling style is person-centered, strength-based, integrative, and trauma-informed, drawing from approaches that honour each individual’s strengths and lived experiences. Amanda has specialized training in Motivational Interviewing, substance use, and San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety, and she is working toward her Registered Social Worker (RSW) designation.

Amanda lives, works, and plays on the unceded traditional territory of the Secwépemc Nation. She is committed to ongoing learning in cultural humility, equity, and safety. Outside of work, she cherishes time with her family and loves being outdoors, whether camping, exploring near the water, or enjoying a beach day.

Low Cost Counselling: $65 per 50-minute sessions for individuals and $80 per 50-minute sessions for couples. Amanda offers sessions on Mondays.
