Rachael Sanya

Rachael is a Canadian Certified Counsellor whose practice is grounded in trauma-informed and person-centred principles. With over 10 years of experience, she has supported children, adults, and families as they navigate the complexities of healing and reconnect with their sense of safety, resilience, and inner strength. Her background includes extensive work in developmental trauma, sexual assault, and the impacts of interpersonal violence on individuals and their loved ones.
Rachael brings a gentle, empathic presence to therapy and strives to create a secure, grounded environment where clients can show up as their authentic selves. Rachael is especially passionate about supporting parents and helping them care for their own emotional wellbeing so they feel grounded, supported, and able to thrive in their parenting journey. Understanding that taking the first step into counselling can be daunting, Rachael meets each client with compassion, patience, and respect, supporting them to move at a pace that feels safe and empowering.
Her therapeutic approach integrates somatic processing, art therapy, narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems, and EMDR. Rachael completed a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Adelaide in Australia.
Outside of her work, Rachael finds joy in spending time in nature, getting lost in a good book, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
Session fee - $150 per 50 minute session, Rachael offers sessions on Fridays and Tuesday Evenings.
